Younger Kids:
Clinicians at River Grove Therapy use child centered play therapy, expressive arts, and other creative techniques to work with children ages 3+.
Child centered play therapy provides an opportunity to work through overwhelming or disruptive feelings. Child centered play therapy can help children improve their ability to manage disruptive feelings and situations, and help to heal from traumatic and upsetting experiences.
We also work with parents to help them understand the meaning behind their child's behavior in order to improve any challenges at home. We are a neurodiversity-affirming practice. At River Grove Therapy, focus on your child and will work with you as grow in doing the same.

Adolescents & Teens:
If your teenager needs support & understanding, our therapists are trained to use a combination of interpersonal, talk therapy as well as creative therapies/expressive arts to work through presenting problems. The initial session may with both the teen and the parents, and parent sessions are conducted as needed throughout the process.

For kids of all ages, we see benefits from a wrap-around, team approach. We aim to connect with other adults in the young person's life- teachers, guidance counselors, and psychiatrists as needed. We see that children thrive when the adults in their life work together to see, focus on their own strengths, and thrive.
We also work with parents to help them understand the meaning behind their child's behavior in order to improve any challenges in the home. At River Grove Therapy, we work to learn the specific needs of your child and will provide feedback for parents in doing the same.
