About Cindy

I love to support adolescents, teenagers and young adults as they navigate the challenges of adolescence and early adulthood, identity issues, and family/life transitions.

I create an accepting space to cultivate a deep empathy and understanding of the unique struggles faced by each of my clients.  My approach to therapy is client-centered and strengths-based, empowering my clients to discover their inner resources and develop coping strategies to overcome challenges. I integrate evidence-based techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, expressive arts, sand tray therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and mindfulness practices to tailor treatment plans to meet the individual needs of my clients.

I am passionate about social justice and am committed to creating a safe and inclusive space where young people feel heard, valued, and supported. I believe in the power of building trusting therapeutic relationships and collaboratively working towards positive change.

With a bachelor’s degree in Family Studies and a master's degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University, I bring a strong foundation in understanding human behavior and social systems. I am a supervisee in Social Work under Melanie Froemke, LCSW.

I'm excited that I've been selected for the George Mason University 2024-2025 Trauma-Informed Care Post-MSW Fellowship. The fellowship focuses on work with various populations such as veterans, immigrants, sexual and emotional abuse survivors, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community with the goal of using trauma-informed care and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients reach their goals.
